If Jesus went to a wedding today, what do you think he’d bring as a gift?

“And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” ~ Micah 6:8

“Without justice, human beings cannot live together as God intended. Without kindness and mercy, life is unbearable. And unless one walks humbly in the presence of the mystery we call god, we are likely to be humbled in ways we least expect.

Jesus’s life was about living out MIcah’s call. We don’t prove our faith in god by blind, and unquestioning obedience to rules. Such obedience, in fact, gets in the way of faith because we so often mistake the rules for God…Jesus had the passion of a social prophet, who, like Micah, called people to strive for justice – even if it meant breaking the rules.”  (Living the Questions: The Wisdom of Progressive Christianity, p 65)

How can we live this passion of justice that commits itself to the sidelined and stigmatized?  What could living this way do to your ‘faithing’ process?
