I came across a cool prayer from Soren Kiekegaard today.
I altered it just a bit.
Awesome God! Don’t hold our sins against us, instead hold us up against our sins. So that when we think of you in our soul, we shouldn’t be reminded of what we did, but how you have forgiven; not of how we always go on our own path but that you bring us back to you.

It seemed to resonate with me today. Not beaten down by something we did, but given strength in the midst of everything going on around us to act and live in a way that is true to the way God has instructed us, with justice and truth, mercy and forgiveness. Not out of fear of God, but knowing that in the midst of a pretty crappy world at times God is still looking for us.

That’s how it struck me. It’s where I’m at today.
